They bring together citizen, faith, non-profit, government and business leaders to work collaboratively to envision and build sustainable communities. They provide hands-on training and tools for neighborhoods, congregations, schools and businesses to save energy, water and resources while building community, health, wealth and local resilience.

More about this organization
Transition Longfellow is a group of neighbors in the Greater Longfellow community of Cooper, Howe, Hiawatha and Longfellow (and friends from other neighborhoods) who are taking part in the global movement to build more resilient individuals and families and more sustainable communities in the face of climate change. Transition Longfellow is one of more than 130 official Transition Town initiatives in the US.
Transition Longfellow creates opportunities for people to learn about and to take action on the key areas of transition: reduced dependence on fossil fuels, increasing energy efficiency and conservation, relocalizing our economy, building a more resilient and healthy food supply, reducing unnecessary consumption and reducing waste.
Through Transition Longfellow, you can subscribe to community solar and be supporting Minnesota's move toward a renewable energy future. Community solar gardens make solar energy affordable to everyone - homeowners, renters, and small business owners alike.
